Overview

After weeks of proof of concept prototyping, I started polishing two of our main componets: wallet and onboarding. In terms of wallet, we envisioned it living with the browser’s search bar, with a menu when expanded. Selecting those menu options brings up the wallet overlay that I prototyped earlier. On hover, there’s a shimmer effect that adds delight. In the case of a pending blockchain transaction, the background becomes a green bar until the transaction is complete.

Additionally, Cam and I laid out the structure for our onboarding process. Breaking it into a three act structure of Import (bringing your wallet into the browser or creating your own), Customize (browser-related personalization, such as profile picture and shortcut dApps), Reward (giving a membership card or NFT, preferably while teaching mechanics of the browser).

Process

With the Wallet Widget, my goal has been to synthesize the explorations and learnings into a polished experience. Many of the animations in the demo videos you mind find look similar to past demos. With onboarding, we kicked off our conversation by exploring related apps and analyzing their pros and cons. Then, we detailed what we absolutely need.

Next Steps

In all our decision-making, we are keenly aware that to find the best solution we need to test many variations with users. So going forward, I will be exploring more concepts in polish and plugging it into the browser.

Back next week with more ✌️
